The Highlanders, continue their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain - aka Carroll Rock, part of their homeland, from the dragon Smaug - aka the SNP & their planning committee! In all seriousness, those on the committee needed to visit this beauty spot BEFORE making such a momentous decision that will create such environmental damage that could never be reversed! After living just one mile from this spot for many years, when the other local wind farm was being erected, I saw the destruction of local roads, & the disruption to the local way of life. Huge delivery transporters using single track roads, taking hours to get to their destination. A 15 minute trip to the shops turned into a 3 hour journey at 10 mph!! After seeing the abundance of wildlife that the loch supports, everything from frogs to newts, fishes to herons, plus the deer, I understand more than they obviously do, the effect this will have on the whole environment! If the committee were to visit the local wind farm now, as I did last year, they would understand my analogy with The Hobbit film, & the desolation that happened because of a terrible decision made by previous planners that do not understand Highland life. This is too high a price for a whole community to have to pay. A decision that needs reversing before it's too late.
